Q1: What is the difference between the Mediatopz and the Minitopz?
A: The Mediatopz is a complete wall mounted home theater PC which is ONLY build on commission and which besides the main HTPC (in the PC Pod) contains features like integrated web-cam, iPod dock, integrated 26-in-1 media card reader (all in the Media Pod), HDMI switch, 4portUSB hub and IR capabilities (all in the Switch Pod). Furthermore the Mediatopz system contains special SW (and a special Artopz Windows Media Center Menu) which allow any keyboard device (like the Mini DiNovo) to control features like the Pod lights and more.
The Mintopz on the other hand is ‘just’ a desktop PC which can also be used as a home theater PC. When we say ‘just’ a desktop PC we should not forget to mention the Minitopz innovative design….and that it is also a desk lamp!
Q2: What should I buy – Mediatopz or Minitopz?
A: If your are looking for an innovative wall mounted Home Theater PC, custom made just for your living room, office, hotel lobby or…. – then the Mediatopz will be just it!
Are you looking for a unique, plug-and-play, available for purchase, desktop PC to use in your office or as a beautiful home theater PC for your living room – then it will be the Minitopz!
Q3: What is the difference between Minitopz HTPC and Minitopz desktop PC?
A: The Minitopz desktop PC has a built-in, slot loaded DVD/CD reader /burner and comes with the option to have an MS Office package pre-installed (extra).
The Minitopz HTPC (Home Theater PC) on the other hand is optimized for the home theater setting and so this unit contains a slot loaded Blu-ray player (and DVD/CD reader/burner) instead of the standard DVD/CD player. To play Blu-ray movies (and to improve the quality of the DVD playback) the Minitopz HTPC also comes with a TotalMedia Theater 3 Platinum pre-installed. And to top it off, the Minitopz HTPC also ships with a Logitech Mini DiNovo mini keyboard/mouse. As the HTPC has these additional features (compared to the Minitopz desktop PC) it will also be slightly more expensive.
Q4: Can I get my own graphic design?
A: Yes. Artopz offers as a baseline the Mediatopz product on a commission basis only, which means we will work with you (using your graphics or suggestions from our designers/artists) to create a master piece just for you. The Minitopz does not come with a customization option except for special requests.
A: If you buy a Minitopz through our secure (SSL) online store you can pay with credit cards, paypal or wire transfer. If you buy a Mediatopz you would need to contact us to arrange specific payments.
Q6: What remote control can I use?
A: We recommend the wireless Logitech DiNovo keyboard/mouse which we ship with the Minitopz Home Theater PC. Another remote we like is the Glide TV.
For all Minitopz products any USB wired or wireless keyboard and mouse can be used.
Q7: Do I have to buy extra cable for connection to my Tv and Audio?
A: No/Yes. The Mediatopz ships with all the cables which are needed for the specific application. The Minitopz ships with a standard 6ft. HDMI cable and a standard 3ft VGA cable.
In case you need longer cables or additional AV cables, you will need to provide them yourself.
Q8: Do you sell Artopz products outside US?
A: Yes. You can use our product in any country, however, please note that the AC/DC power supply that comes with the Minitopz and Mediatopz products come with a standard US 3-prong plug and you might need to buy a plug-adaptor for your country.
In case of technologies like Digital TV (like the USB AverMEdia unit we sell on our online store), you must first make sure these product support your local standards (Europe = DVB-T / USA = ATSC).
